Let’s start with Shoemoney.

No I will not be fighting Shoemoney.

As much as I wanna do this, Shoemoney has health concerns regarding his precious appendages.

Affiliate marketing is still dead or dying, because this post on DirectResponse.net says so. Joking aside, there are many good points there on why the affiliate ecosystem tends to eat itself. There’s another good post on DR that can help you reduce charge backs.

If you’re feeling voyeuristic, DR also posted up this recorded call that has some good insight into the advertiser side of the online marketing space. Definitely worth a listen.

Do you suck at Google? That’s probably because you’re not a brand. Everything Google has been doing the past few years has been giving preferential treatment to brands, and kicking SEOs / small businesses to the curb. Aaron Wall says so in this fancy infographic.

I’m very familar with this group. They are a cult no doubt. Yes most of them are rich. They flaunt their money and talk about the wonders of capitalism and such. They Fly ” High “. They are led by a crazy young leader named Ryan who is always creating wierd pictures in photoshops of eagles doing strange things. They listen to rap music. They use slang like ‘hustle” “grind” and “stunting on competition” to brag about the way they get monies day and night. Stay far away from these people. They will brainwash you into thinking you could do this too. Nothing but a cult of young rich capatalists. A small group but they are growing odds are if you click an ad somewhere online around the world you are feeding this money whore called EWA!

MobAff Blog from the Angry Russian is another one worth subscribing to. If you’re in the mobile marketing space at all, there isn’t that much good content out there compared to SEO or PPC or something. This commie sheds some light on the subject. If you’re not into mobile, MobAff’s first post could change your mind.

I haven’t read through all of Scotch and Sales yet, but looks like another promising blog to follow. All I know is that I enjoy sales while drinking scotch with a finely rolled Cuban cigar.

• 10. Float that boat. Amsterdam is famous for it’s canals, and the particular weekend of the meetup coincides with one of Amsterdam’s biggest boat parade parties! Since we’re never one to sit out on the fun, we’ve reserved our own boat to join the party and cruise the city in style.
• 9. You snooze you lose. Time’s running out to “space out” at one of Amsterdam’s coffee shops, which will be closing to tourists in 2012. Go on, Google it if you don’t believe me.
• 8. Brew Ha Ha. Beer lovers, listen up…with over 1,200 diverse and vibrant pubs, Amsterdam is one of the unofficial beer havens of Europe. When you’re not pub’in it (get it?) you can tour the Heineken brewery. Shoot whisky like a real man? Try De Stil, Spuistraat 326, which stocks 150 different single malt whiskies. Stay thirsty my friends.
• 7. Window Shopping. Come see the infamous Red Light district. The “merchandise” can be interesting, but checking out all the skeevo’s taking pictures are also worth the visit. I’m looking at you Barman. (Editor’s note: I don’t pay for sex!)
• 6. Unleash your inner nerd. Before there were computer geeks, there were history and museum nerds. Release your inner nerd out by perusing the many museums Amsterdam has to offer from the Anne Frank Museum to Van Gogh museum. Savvy up and soak in a little culture by the famous Rembrandt and Vermeer, checking out the set of Oceans 12 or catching a world famous DJ set.
• 5. Party Hardy. The parade festival is all week long and culminating on Saturday August 6th with the 2nd biggest street party of the year. Some of the best DJs in the world are flying out for the event, and the city is jammed packed with festivities. And let’s be honest, the city doesn’t even need an excuse to throw a good party.
• 4. Get your Carmen San Diego on. Amsterdam is perfectly situated for you to jump off to Paris, London, Brussels (all of which are a short train ride away via high speed train/chunnel), or on to Italy, Spain, Germany or a multitude of European destinations to work on your “international relations.”
• 3. Sleep’s overrated. Being so far north, the sun doesn’t start to go down until 10pm and the Dutch take advantage of their long summer days and bring the party into the night, and Amsterdam has no shortage of nightlife or bars!
• 2. You know how you always tweet about your Gucci, Louis, Fendi and Insert Logos here that end in “ee”, but actually never leave the confines of your home office (read: ‘rents basement) and dress semi homeless? Now’s your time to actually get some sunshine, show off that swag and pick up some new European goodies.
• 1. Dutch chicks dig interweb nerds. Well, perhaps the verdict for that is still out, but you don’t know until you go!
