It appears that, looking at the actual FTC Privacy Roundtable site, anyone can apply to be in these roundtables. Knowing Yu, he wants to get his name out there anyway he can, so if it all it takes is an application then he probably got one of his lackeys to do it.
Dear FTC. I know we’ve had our differences. But lets be real here. Do you even do a background check on these people? All you see is someone’s credentials, and figure, “Sure, fuck it, he looks legit.”
Maybe you did your research and realized you have the squeeling pig you’re looking for to rat out the whole industry. In that case, good move FTC. Good move.
