Denver Not That Lame

June 1st, 2009 by Barman Leave a reply »

Despite what some bloggers will have you believe, Denver is not actually that shitty of a place. Now I agree with Cakes that the actual convention will be lame, but that’s not to say you can’t have some fun out here in Denver.

I’ve been living here for about 3 years. Denver has a great bar scene and some classy strip clubs. If you’re coming for drinks and partying, then the sports bar area is around Market and Blake street (near Coors field).

I am not much of a “nightclubber” so I can’t help you there. But I do know that the “Penthouse” is where you want to go to see some titties. Also Ritcher (allegedly) owns a club in Denver, so it will be curious to see what goes down that night (Just don’t bite our Acai Berry Jello Wrestling motherfuckers)

Personally you’re better off renting a car than cabbin’ it if you’re getting outside of the city. The surrounding cities are quite spaced out, and if you’re planning on golfing, you’re not gonna find it in town. Colorado is huge on golf so if you’re a golf fan then you’re gonna be pleased with the courses (I don’t golf for shit.)

The best part about Denver is the weather. 300 days of sunshine a year! The only problem is it can be summer one second, then torrential downpour the next. But the views of the Rockies is bad ass so book a high floor in your hotel facing West.

As someone who used to live in Boulder I must agree — this time of the year the weather is amazing in Denver/Boulder.

    Yes — rent a car.

And yes, Scott does own a club. It is not in Denver but actually about 10/15 minutes outside of Boulder.

I’ll be there for 1/2 day of convention and 2 days of whitewater rafting and beer drinking!

Scott’s club is Platinum 84, and it’s where the Mile High Affiliate Party is going to be held. Check out MileHighAffiliateParty dot com.

I have never been to Denver before, but will be attending the convention and am pretty excited to explore the city. I have some friends that went to school there and said it is beautiful. Thanks for the post!

Colorado is next coolest state after Florida and California.

…and you’re right, the view of the Rockies is totally badass.

If only I had known this BEFORE going to the gayest party on earth at platinum 84 or whatever gay club shoemoney’s party was at. At first, I thought several of the strippers were actually men. I was thinking, WTF kind of strip club is this?

We all left and waited outside forever for the shoemoney bus, but it never came, or at least we didn’t wait for it because it was so late, so we all took a cab, the driver recommended and I kid you not, Penhouse men’s club off Colorado blvd. We got there kinda late, but had a great time anyway. The women were so much nice looking. The atmosphere was much more professional as well. We could actually hold a conversation without yelling because of the music at the Mile High (gay) Affiliate Party.

It was so lame at shoemoney’s party, I decided to skip the entire convention and left today. Didn’t even pick up my pass, or see kris jones keynote. Affiliate convention denver was an EPIC FAILURE.
