I watched this thing because the screenshot with “The Secret” caught my eye. My aunt got started on that shit and then tried to pass it off to me and I tried my politest to say, “Yeah right.” Eventually she got my mom into it instead.
I don’t know if they have them over in CO, but all along I-95 I keep seeing this RIDICULOUS billboard propaganda trying to negate everybody’s fears about the economy with bullshit like “Recession 101: Bill Gates started Microsoft in a recession”. (http://www.cnn.com/2009/LIVING/personal/07/17/recession.campaign/)
I mean jesus christ. The thing that pisses me off about this most is how it’s trying to calm the people who don’t know anything about economics or world events anyway, and who are panicking because they’re ALREADY hearing the specious, optimistic version of the danger. WE already know that it’s worse than what major news publications reveal, and therefore worse than what the average Joe Throlson knows, and yet then you have these billboards trying to get people to care even less about it. To top it all off, according to these articles, the billboard space and materials were donated, and the designs were paid for by “an anonymous east coast donor.” Yeah? Who’s that? The federal government?
