I don’t really know who Danny Sullivan is. I’ve heard the name tossed around plenty. I guess is he is like an SEO expert or social media guru or some shit. I think he speaks at a lot of conferences, and if you speak at conferences that pretty much guarantees your “guru status.”

A good majority of PPC.bz readers are Wickedfire members. And if you are a WF member chances are at least involved in something nefarious in your online marketing endeavors. If you are on the shady side of things, you might take offense from his article.
Let’s take a look at the first paragraph –
If you’re link spamming, you suck. If you know someone who is link spamming, they suck — and you should tell them so. If you don’t know why you suck, here’s a story about the human impact of what you do.
Listen friends. I need you all to go out there, and tell everyone you know that they suck. Tell them they suck hard and they need to stop making a living.
Basically, Sullivan’s post is him crying about his wife’s website that got spammed to death because they didn’t have the time or resources to prevent spam attacks. Well, no shit Danny. Have you ever seen what happens to a Wordpress blog if you leave the comments open?
Someone decided the world needed another 500+ links about discount prescription drugs.
I don’t know who this “someone” is, but I’m confident they are Russians or Turks who could give a flying fuck about your fucking feelings. I’m pretty sure all they want to do is spread their links all over the internets. A pharmacy link for every man, woman, and child!
No, the core problem is that the web has people who think nothing of vandalizing other web sites. That’s what link spamming is. You’re not adding value to a site. You’re simply spray painting garbage on someone else’s property, for your own personal benefit. You have no manners. You have no morals. You ought to be ashamed.
I can’t comprehend this far-fetched utopia vision of the internet. Imagine an internet with morals. There would be no ringtones, no acai berries, no 4chan, no nothing. We’d all be sitting around fucking unicorns and snorting mermaid dust.
SEO doesn’t mean link spamming in my book. There are SEOs who also link spam, clearly. Aside from hurting individual site owners, you give the entire SEO industry a bad name. You should stop. Or call yourself something else — perhaps link spammer would be a good title?
Let’s get some shit straight. I don’t get these high and mighty SEO clowns. What the fuck are they trying to prove? 90% of SEO is bullshit. There are so many scammy fucks that spam SEO services it is an impossibility to separate “legitimate SEO” from the rest.
In fact, it might be easier to just call “real SEO”s something else, and leave the spammer title for SEO’s. Let’s call the real SEOs “internet link developers,” “web link jerk-off-ers,” or “link fluffers.”
