Ubot for $1 – Dollar Menu Millionaires

November 21st, 2011

Edit: Fixed the Ubot link. It should link to the $1 trial that is not available to the public anymore. Use Promo Code ppcbz199

“Sell Out Monday” continues…

So the guys are Ubot asked me to make a post about their $1 Trial. I was hesitant since I am lazy but then they offered to write the post for me, in “my voice.” I assumed they meant the “ppc.bz voice” but they actually gone and wrote it in first person.

The post below was written by Jason on the Ubot team. He prefaces the post with … “I wasn’t sure how to get in the mindset to write as you so I went out and killed a homeless man with a hammer, and then drank a few fingers of whiskey. I think that worked.

Did it work? I leave my commentary below… (everything below is the actual post they wrote for me with my commentary added in)

Build Your Own Marketing Bots For $1? What the Hell is Wrong With These People?

A few years ago UBot came on the scene and I got a review copy. This was so far back that no one really knew what it was. So I put up a review where I said I didn’t know what the fuck it was either, but then I tried it and it was legitimately the best tool ever created, because it made other tools. And I said you were an idiot if you didn’t buy it.

It’s true. When I wrote the original Ubot post back in the day I barely knew what it did. It’s also correct that I might have called you an idiot.

“Well that’s easy for you to say barman,” some people commented, “because your copy was free.” Well, if you were as amazing as I was maybe they’d give you a free copy too, first of all. Second, don’t even bother trying to be as amazing as me, because now your copy is basically free also. The guys over at UBot just opened a limited trial that lasts for 14 days and only costs $1. And if you are smart enough to read this text then you are smart enough to use that 14 days to build a bot that will make you at least enough money to buy the damn thing.

Now you, for the price of a double cheeseburger off the McDonald’s Dollar Menu, can script up personalized tools with Ubot

What’s New In UBot 4

I’m not a programmer, besides the basics needed to keep this website and a few other things looking amazing. So UBot seemed perfect to me 0 build your own software and customize your marketing instead of paying a million dollars for SENuke. It has an easy interface, lots of instructions, its built by marketers for marketers, yada yada. So yeah, if you didn’t try it out, that would be pretty stupid.

Sadly, after the past few months, you might actually consider me a decent programmer now

Now there’s a new version – 4.0 – that does everything the old UBot did plus about a dozen other newfangled things. It was already designed for idiots, but now it’s somehow even easier to use, so I guess that means even stupider people can use it. It’s still not going to do anything out of the box, ie, you have to come up with your own damn ideas (or use mine), but it will do more shit for you automatically – like filling in forms without you having to think too hard, with something the UBot people call “Artificial Intelligence.” Yeah, it’s not going to make breakfast for you, but after playing around with it some, it’s definitely easier to use and smarter than it was before.

Jason is correct in that I would call you stupid and even stupider

There’s also some stuff in the “professional” version that seems pretty wicked – Image Recognition lets you control Flash websites, and there’s now a “code view” that shows you your code in text form. Even if you’re not a programmer this is pretty nice, because the code is obvious shit like “navigate(http://www.ppc.bz)” for the most part. Oh, and this version has multithreading, too, for those of you that need that sort of thing.

I can’t afford $1

Yes you can, shut up, you cheap piece of shit. There’s no reason not to try this while they have the trial open. This single piece of software can replace a dozen other programs and if you spend a few hours a day for the next two weeks using it, you’ll understand why. And you’ll probably hate your stupid self for not buying it sooner. $1 is less than it costs to buy a pack of gum. It’s less than a cup of coffee. Trying UBot now costs less than the handjob you got from that toothless crack whore, and it will probably only make you feel half as dirty, you sick fuck.

The above paragraph might as well have been written by me. I think that whiskey helped, Jason

What should I do with it?

You should do whatever the fuck you’re already doing, because this thing can basically automate whatever that is. If you are using a tool that you wish was customized for your weird fetishes or one that you wish worked better, then you can improve that by building your own script to do the same damn thing. If you aren’t already doing something or using anything and really don’t have any idea what to do with this sweet $1 deal, then maybe you should buy a fucking clue instead. This software is still amazing and getting better, so just cough up the buck and try it before the trial closes.

And before I forget, the coupon I’ve got still works – ppcbz199 – so put it in when you sign up.

_____________________________

Now for the sake of disclosure, I don’t really use Ubot that much anymore. I will use it occasionally for random scripts but that’s rare. I’ve actually learned to program, and over the course of whenever I wrote the original post, I’ve gotten away from the hell that is SEO.

That said, it’s still a great tool, especially for those who don’t really know how to code. As long as you have some imagination, you can use Ubot to automate a lot of tasks for your daily life.

Need to spam 30 links to various French websites that SENuke doesn’t even know exist? Why yes, you can custom-code that. I actually did this back in the day. I should probably throw the source up on Ubot’s forum somewhere now that I think about it…

Thanks to the Ubot team for writing this post! If they left it up to me I doubt it would have ever been written.

Datafeeds, Autoblogs, and Forums Oh My!

May 12th, 2010

I was pondering about writing this post for a little while. I don’t know how “helpful” I want to be, but since I haven’t posted any useful shit in forever, why the fuck not. I saw this post by Adhustler, and I think Nickycakes wrote some shit a few weeks ago too.

Over the past few weeks I’ve been messing around with some of this stuff, so I figure I’d report my findings.

Most of this shit will sound pretty lame to paid traffic people. But I know a lot of online marketers steady spam the SERPs, get big sites up, and enjoy the steady rev-stream. And a lot of people move back and forth between traffic types, so maybe this resource might help a few people out.

Keep in mind, messing with SEO and organic traffic is not a get rick quick scheme. It takes a lot of time, and a lot of resources (good domains, money to outsource link building) if you want to get anywhere.

Matter of fact, this isn’t actually easy either. You need to know HTML, at least some basic PHP, and general internet know-how. Some of these resources claim tat you can get shit done without knowing much of the above, but I tend not to believe that bullshit.

In addition, some of this info can actually be helpful to paid traffic people. For example, if I can populate a website with a ton of info for the top 250 cities. You show a customized lander based on IP or campaign, and Google will eat that shit up. Like a dating campaign that customizes landers for the city of the visitor. Shit like that.

Anyway –

Data and Datafeeds

First, let’s talk about getting this data into a website.

The de-facto CMS of choice is WordPress. You can use others, like Jamoo la, but I haven’t messed with any. There are two plugins that do a good job of importing data into WordPress.

MyReviewPlugin vs ReviewPluginforWordpress

Both of these plugins have very similar features, but one is better.

My Review Plugin wins, hands down. I started off with Review Plugin for WordPress, but the documentation on it is so bad that I had to look elsewhere after many wasted hours of trying to figure shit out.

The best part about My Review Plugin is the great support. The plugin is always updated and new shit is being added all the time.

This is not a tutorial on how to use either plugin – figure that shit out on your own you lazy git.

If you haven’t used on of these plugins before, then they will create [tags] from each column, that you can use when making your template for import. For example, your title for each post could be: “Product [product_id] [product_name].” Then you drop in the [tags] for the rest of the data within the post template.

MyReviewPlugin also supports spinning syntax, which leads to endless possibilities of mass, yet unique, content creation. Not to mention, it will create reviews for your posts automatically. And it lets visitors leave ratings. And a bunch of other shit.

Clean Data is Good Data

The most important thing to know before using any of these plugins for importing data, is that your CSV file has to be on point. Clean that shit up, because what you see in that CSV is how it will display on your website.

I use Excel for messing with the data before exporting it to a CSV. Excel offers a lot of functions, most of which I don’t even know exist, that let you make data easier on the eyes. If you don’t know how to do something in Excel then Google it bitch, because you’ll find an answer in minutes.

  • Proper($cell) function – Capitalizes the first letter of every word in a cell. Useful if the data you have is all lower case.
  • Combine cellsexample =A1&” “&A2&” “&A3. If you have a CSV with a ton of listings, and one of the columns is the state, you can use this function to create a new column like $state + sex shops = “Florida Sex Shops” which you can use in your import (in this case, which Category the post will be in.)
  • Fill – if you have a formula and you want to repeat for 10,000 more rows, use the Fill command for automation-ing.

These are just a few basic examples. If you’re an Excel pro you can probably hack some cool shit together.

The main benefit of using a spreadsheet program like Excel is the ability to combine a bunch of data from different sources, into a uniform format for your site. A visual GUI is much more fun than trying to do anything similar in mySQL / phpMyadmin (or other databases).

Where to Get Data?

That’s all fine and dandy, but where do you get this data?

The internet my friends. It’s on the internet.

Product Feeds – Most affiliate networks provide product feeds. ShareaSale, CJ, and a lot of others. Keep in mind that these aren’t like your typical CPA network types of offers. They are cost per sale, and suck ass compared a $20 leadgen. But if you can do it on a big scale (which is the point), then the pennies and dollars add up.

Public and Private Resources – There are a ton of data resources out there with all sorts of information available with a simple download. Census data is just on example. You can use this kind of public data to enhance your sites with more information for people to come back for, and search engines to index.

Scrape – My friend always said, “Scraping > Raping. Hugs > Drugs.” I disagree with the latter, but if you want someone’s data then scrape that shit. You can scrape Yellow Page listings, movie databases, and pretty much anything that is on a website.

An advanced knowledge of php / CURL, or RoR, is important here. If you don’t have that, of course you can use the Ubot to make it easier on you. Even if you know how to scrape with CURL, I’d still use Ubot to save time.

AutoBlogs

OK so you have a website with a bunch of data. Or you don’t really care about data. Now what?

Autoblogging is essentially using tools to keep a blog updated consistently, so you don’t have to maintain it all that much. The majority of these tools will scrape content from a variety of sources and publish automatically to your blog. There are literally a ton of plugins that do this, and it’s very hard to sort through the shit to find the things that work.

Fortunately for you, dear reader, is that I did most of this research already. The more I think about it, the more I lean towards selling this post a $97 e-book.

Auto Blog Blueprint

A few weeks ago I did not know a thing about autoblogs. After reading some good reviews on WF about Auto Blog Blueprint, I joined. Suffice it to say, this is one of the best, if not the best, resources on autoblogging out there. Just go through the course in a day and you’ll be up to speed on all the tools and shit out there. No fluff whatsoever.

As of writing this, it’s not open anymore until Mike releases version 2.0. If autoblogging is relevant to your interests, then hit up Auto Blog Blueprint when the new shit is out.

WPTweetbomb

There are a ton of plugins you can use, but there’s one I really like called WPTweetBomb. This plugin does the auto-blog thing, but integrates a number of other features. One feature being that it will tweet your posts automatically. At this point in time, I’m not entirely sure how vital twitter is, but shit, everyones using it. It gets backlinks though.

WPTweetBomb comes in two flavors. One regular (for 1 site) and Pro (for 300 sites). You might as well buy Pro because you get 299 more site licenses for like $100 more.

In addition to grabbing content from static resources, good auto-blogging tools let you use RSS feeds for content as well. You can build entire sites automatically with a single feed like this Trends from Google feed. I know someone is doing it successfully because I get their comment spam here all the time.

What’s the End Goal?

Ideally, you want to build unique sites that pull in traffic that are very hands off. Setup takes time, but once it’s going then you move onto the next one. Or you can use datafeeds and autoblogging tools to spruce up a more mundane site. (Like adding financial news to some static business website.)

For example, you can build a base with a datafeed from a CJ program. You then use autoblogging software to keep that site updated with news and stuff within that niche. Your site would start out with 5,000 indexable pages of products, and you’re adding 30 posts a day automatically. You can also drip-feed the data into posts rather than publishing several thousand pages at once.

Using the default settings on these tools is not a good idea. Toss in a few keywords and pressing Go is not going to work.

You want to create something unique, even though the data is freely available. You want to mash-up content from here and there, so you have a site that looks rich and attracts traffic. You want to present content and information in a different way.

Of course, you can toss up a ton of generic automated sites and that will work on a large scale as well.

The point is that the ideas you can come up with for using these tools are limitless. The possibilities are endless, and I can fly like an eagle.

If you’re going to dive into datafeeds and autoblogging then your end goal should be a massive network of sites. Sites in every niche doing all sorts of things that bring hits. Scale is key, no fucking doubt.

Monetization

There are a number of ways to monetize these kinds of sites. You have your Adcents, which is a common staple of internet money making. You can sell banner space too. But you need serious traffic, which could take weeks or months, to see any substantial revenue.

You can build a list, and hit them with those nice e-mail only offers.

An alternative to Adcents is Prosperent. I met these dudes a few weeks ago at a meetup, and they know their shit. Prosperent will bring up a series of ads based on referring keywords. You get paid on the sale of the product, rather than a click. No company I know of offers any type of similar service.

If you have traffic already then split-test to see if Prosperent gives you a better CPM. There are also a bunch of arbitrage opportunities with this network that will not be discussed here.

You have your Amazon and eBay of course. Most autoblogging tools include the ability to monetize your site with Amazon and eBay, as well as scrape their data (listings and reviews from Amazon, and listings from eBay). To be honest, I can’t see anyone making money with eBay these days, nor Amazon with their ridiculously low commission %. Stop me if I’m wrong, but eBay can suck a nut.

Last but not least, you can base your site around a CPA offer. For example, you know the teenage girls want to make Smileys with Smiley Central. You can build an auto-blog that should blow-up with Justin Bieber traffic. For good measure, scrape a Justin Bieber picture gallery and put it on your site (cloak image traffic to a CPALead offer so they have to fill it out to see the picture). Since it’s your site, you can plaster your ads all over it, and use an exit-pop when they leave.

Rinse and repeat for 10 more teeny-bopper stars until you’re getting 20,000 uniques a day. (Easier said than done, but doable.)

Seriously, fuck Justin Beiber.

Success depends on your niche too. If you want to jump into autoblogging with a dating resource site, you might fail. For one, it’s competitive with plenty of content sites already. Certain niches are better suited for display adverting, but many niches can be successful if the majority of traffic comes from searching (over socializing).

The most ancient example of successful websites using common data are lyrics sites. Everyone loves music and everyone wants to know the lyrics to their favorite songs. These lyrics sites generate an ass-ton of traffic and make a lot of money. It seems like a few of these sites were bought up by MTV networks, so the owners must have seen a nice pay-day.

I wouldn’t jump into a lyrics site either with all the professional competition, it’s just an example.

Other Stuff

There are a million and one kinds of websites you can mash-up with these tools. The options are seriously endless. I don’t know what else to say (this posts is 2,200 words already)

Before I bid farefull, I want to give a shout out to PPV Playbook. I always wanted to mention PPV Playbook, but didn’t want to dedicate a post to it, lest I be called a sell-out.

Anyway, their forum is top-notch and David keeps it real with a ton of case studies. It’s been a few weeks since I visited, but I’m sure it’s only gotten better. If you’re looking for a place where people talk shop rather dickroll each other, check out PPV Playbook (it’s not all about PPV). Full disclosure I get a ‘review copy plz’ for the forum, dunno if i’d pay cash money personally, but a lot of people would and should.

Ubot – The Ability to Automate for Idiots

October 13th, 2009

Edit: See this post to get Ubot for $199

buy ubotA few weeks ago I was linked to a website for this program called Ubot. I looked at the page and did not understand what this shit did. Then there was a thread on Wickedfire, and the testimonials were gassing this product up. I bookmarked the page so I could check it out later, as my curiosity was piqued.

But today I got myself a review copy plz of Ubot. I don’t know why people give me free shit, but I guess it’s because I run a popular blog. I spent today just doing the Keyword Research tutorial to get the hang of it, and the following post is my review of Ubot.

Anyways, my background when it comes to programming is that I cannot, in fact, program. I can hack shit together but it takes me all day. I understand PHP and HTML but once you get into OOP and Classes and all that shit i get lost. If you put me on a scale of 1 to 10, I’d be about a 4. (Yet a 10 in the looks department)

What the Fuck is Ubot?

First things first. Out of the box, Ubot doesn’t do anything. If you are expecting some digital ATM machine then you are wrong (and you should hit yourself for ever falling for that guru buzzword).

Ubot is basically a tool to make tools.

“I’m an idiot barman. What does that mean?”

Shut up and listen. Imagine you have some tool to bookmark your latest blog post at some social bookmarking websites. You have this tool because it’s easier to automate the process then doing it site-by-site. Or your can hire your Indian brothers to do it for you. Either way, these kinds of tools or services already exist, and some examples would be Autopligg and SENuke, or the BST Section of Wickedfire.

And now Ubot comes along, which is basically a program that will let you build anything as long as it interacts with a website. So now you have the ability to create a programs that already exist but cost hundreds of dollars.

You can spend a day building a script that will save you an hour a day. Then you can spend a day next week building another script that saves you another hour a day. Eventually, you will have so many scripts that the only thing left to do is push F5 to refresh your stats (ironically, you can build a script to do that too)

The Learning Curve

There is a learning curve with Ubot, no doubt about it. But this is one of the best thing about it – retards need not apply. If you are some beggar always looking for the easy solution, it’s time for your to GTFO.

When you build a script with Ubot, you are basically creating something step-by-step: Open website. Select field. Enter data in field. Push enter. Process next page. Do this if that, do other if something else. Scrape, Export, etc.

This isn’t any different from programming something with PHP and CURL, but it makes the process a whole lot easier if you are a shitty programmer like me. You need a basic grasp of HTML and how websites work to make Ubot worthwhile.

Another part of the learning curve is you actually need something to automate. If you don’t have a fucking clue on how to build links with social bookmarking, submit ads to Facebook, spam gay black male dating sites, whatever the fuck makes you money, then you can’t really automate nothing, right?

Ubot is a Quality Tool for Innovators

If you come up with ideas all of the time (like I do when I’m baked on some fine chronic) but can’t program them for shit, then Ubot will probably change your life. Obviously, you can outsource anything, but finding reliable outsourcing is a pain in the balls, and racks up the expenses. ENGLISH MOTHERFUCKER, DO YOU SPEAK IT?

And if you’re paranoid about your outsourcers stealing your script or selling it elsewhere, you need not worry any more.

The limitations of Ubot are in your head. If you have any imagination whatsoever, there is a 99% chance you can build a tool no one else has with Ubot.

Ubot Ideas

The main problem I originally had with Ubot was “What the fuck does it do?” There is only one tutorial, but if you get through it the skills you pick up are all you really need to know (Adwords Keyword Scraper). Once you have the hang of it, then you can build a shit-ton of scripts.

The problem with buying software that already exists is that you cannot customize it. Maybe you wanted just one feature that wasn’t in the software you bought. Aside from bitching at the creator, you have to wait for the updates you want to be released (if they ever are). With Ubot, you can add and remove whatever you want, whenever you want.

But like I said there are a lack of scripts on the site. So here are some ideas that you can build with Ubot right now.

  • Stat Checker – Build a script to log into all of your affiliate accounts and export a CSV file for you to check out. No more F5′ing
  • SERP Rank Checker – Obviously a ton of these exist, but it’s just some more shit you could build.
  • Web 2.0 Creation – Build a script to post content to a bunch of Web 2.0 properties when you damn well please. Use said Web 2.0 properties to link back to your own domain. SENuke does something like this, but wouldn’t it be better if you a)paid for one license of Ubot that lasts for 3 years instead of only 2 months of SENuke and b) were not limited by the websites within SENuke (where with Ubot you could add and remove web properties as you please)
  • Ad Submitter – Build something to submit your ads automatically to your self-serve PPC engine of choice.
  • Targeted Spamming – Obviously not going to go into too much detail here, but imagine the Myspace friend adders from the days of yore. Lets say you found a site, were able to build a huge list of connections automatically, then pushed your wares on them whenever you wanted.
  • Ad Scraper – Once again, these tools exist. But you could create a customized scraper for only the data you want.

You can pretty much take ideas from any script or software you have ever used, and customize it for your own needs.

Compiling Scripts = Gay

The only thing I do not like is the ability for Ubot to compile your script into a stand-alone executable. I guess they added this if you wanted to sell your own software that did something. This is the only benefit I see.

Otherwise, this feature will ruin a lot of peoples days. You know some asshole is going to come up with, and freely release, a script that someone else has been banking with for months. You know, those assholes that don’t know how to make money online but sure as hell like ruining it for everybody else.

For example, you’re spamming some social website. Then some asshole comes along with the same spammer and releases it to Wickedfire. Now a couple hundred idiots are doing the same exact thing and your technique is squashed. Kapoot. Outed. Done. Dead.

There is always some asshole out there to ruin it for everybody else. I guarantee it will happen multiple times if this feature isn’t squashed (or at least limited to sharing EXE’s with other Ubot users.)

The Final Verdict on Ubot

buy ubotThis is legitimately the best tool ever released. If you are an fast, experienced programmer then you are probably pissed. If you are someone limited by programming ability, then your life will change.

You can take Ubot and build anything your little heart desires. If you use a tool that you always thought you could make better, now you can. You can buy one license of Ubot for $245 and in the long run it will be cheaper than paying for other peoples’ tools (especially if they are monthly subscriptions.)

I’ve only scratched the surface. I haven’t gotten high yet so I haven’t come up with any brilliant ideas to use Ubot for.

If you do not buy Ubot now you are a stupid, cheap piece of shit.

That is all. Expect some more Ubot posts in the future. Some tutorials and examples, maybe, to help you understand the program as I learn it.
