Jonathan Volk Dresses Up in Black Face

You can’t make this shit up.

Was scrolling through the reader today and while I usually blow pasts Volk’s posts, this one caught my attention….

At first I was like, that’s just bad lighting. But upon further inspection, that’s definitely brown paint. Volk you dressed up as black face!

If you’re not familiar with ‘black face,’ its when a white person paints their face black or brown to look like a black person. It’s incredibly racist. My white friend was Tyrone Biggums for Halloween, and even a crackhead has enough sense to know that white people just shouldn’t do that.

Update: Forget everything I said about Volk. Riley Pool is definitely worse

I like how he wore a black wife beater OVER a regular black undershirt.

  2. I remember I was at a kegger back in college (on Halloween) and we were outside smoking and a black guy walked up to us and we started talking not thinking anything of it until he showed us his arms and told us he was white. The guy did an amazing fucking job because he looked like a legit black person.

I was recently tortured into watching “The Jolson Story” and later spent an hour researching what the fuck “Blackface” was – bewildering people were entertained by that.

As for JV, um… Yeah.. Megaton Faux Pas. Still, it was just a little tan, lol… Cut the guy some slack.

Damn…did you see Riley Pool was in black face too and the comments on Volks page praising him. I did not know there was racism in the internet marketing space.

Hahaha someone needs to go read more bible quotes about not doing super offensive racist shit, even on halloween.

Oh my, and we mustn’t be ‘wacist’. Get a life.

    Meh, shit happens.

The Hide Yo Kidz might be more offensive than the face paint.

  10. I still don’t get how it’s “incredibly racist” but thanks for the free publicity. :)

I’m just breaking your balls Volk, don’t take it too seriously, especially like some of these other commenters with no sense of humor.

Hmmm maybe something to do with the fact that you’re dressing up as a black person on Halloween insinuating that blacks are some type of scary monster perhaps? Or maybe the slogan on your shirt insinuating that these black monsters will come after your kids. Why stop at the black face paint and afro? Should have carried a banana too for maximum effect.

    ^ That’s hysterical.

PrankDial.com is pure genius. Anyone know who’s behind that site?

I find this extremely offensive its the fact that he has white privilege that he doesn’t understand the ignorance behind this. Black face was used to stereotype black people as ignorant lazy and just for entertainment you know black people were considered only to be 3/5ths human. Don’t dare tell me to get over it because I have to deal with the burden of being black my culture isn’t considered the norm. it is not a joke or something you just let go I recommend all of you on this post to watch the movie Bamboozled.
